Resolutions overview - Blogmas 19

This year was the first in a while that I set myself some realistic, ambitious, but doable goals. My birthday is on new years day so I think it feels like a reset for me more so than the average person, and last year I started off in a really good place so saw it as a perfect oppertunity to push myself.

Some of my resolutions worked well and will hopefully continue to be a part of my life, others need adjusting slightly so I thought I'd go through them and discuss how they went.

Be more creative

I loved this goal because it was so vague, I didn't care what I did I just knew I wanted to create more. I definitely think I've done this with several crafts throughout the year and even topped it off by committing to blogmas!

Use less plastic

In 2018 I've definitely been more aware of my plastic consumption (haven't we all?) But I think most of the big changes I've made were in December 2017, at least I've stuck to them. There's definitely room for improvement, snacks are my downfall, I think it's one of those things where you just need to be conscious of your choices.

Reduce dairy intake

Here's where I fucked up. As I said, snacks are my downfall. I think I made this a little to broad and I'm going to adapt it going into 2019, but we'll talk about that tomorrow.

Read 50 books

I did this! As of writing this post I have read 52 books this year. Going forward I'm going to focus more on reading what I really want to rather than reading whatever to reach a numbered goal.

Save for disney

Smashed it.

Do you set annual goals? Do you forget what they are by May? I think it's important to evaluate what you care about and have something to work towards, but at the same time I don't think you should put too much pressure on yourself if you're not in the best mental space.

Tomorrow: 2019 Goals
